Vice-Mayor of Siauliai Municipality, oversees a wide-ranging portfolio that
includes strengthening the municipal business environment and competitiveness, managing international relations, and coordinating participatory budgeting as well as youth and social policies. Formerly the youngest deputy mayor in the country, he is also the first politician in the city’s history to be elected who was born in independent, not Soviet-occupied, Lithuania. Although national law provides that Siauliai Municipality should have three vice-mayors, the mayor’s strong trust in Svegzda’s competences has led to him being the city’s sole vice-mayor, entrusted with the broadest responsibilities.
